Sustainable Ski Wear

Human society consumes vast resources, and reducing our impact on the planet requires a collective effort. As a garment manufacturer, we recognise our responsibility and are committed to contributing to meaningful change.

Creating responsible ski jackets and ski pants isn’t simple—but it’s essential. Sustainability covers a wide scope, so to make our work actionable, we developed Strobe’s Five Cornerstones of Sustainability to guide everything we do.

1. Sustainability in Every Decision

The foundation of all sustainability work is integrating it into every business decision. Every part of our operations—from production and transportation to sales and after-sales—has an impact. Only by keeping sustainability top of mind in every decision can we make a genuine difference.

2. Clean materials

Our garments are worn close to the skin and in nature, so the materials we use must be safe for people and the planet. All products are fluorine-free, including PFAS-free DWR coatings and membranes. We prioritise recycled materials to reduce waste and choose organic alternatives where possible to limit the impact of production.

3. Clean production

It goes without saying that ethical labour is a cornerstone in making sustainable garments. We work closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure fair working conditions, transparency, and accountability. All of our factories are certified, with BSCI as a minimum requirement.

4. Durability is sustainability

While smarter production methods can reduce resource use, the biggest environmental impact still occurs during manufacturing. The most effective way to lower a garment’s total footprint is to extend its lifespan. We focus on creating durable, long-lasting ski wear and continuously improve our products by linking development closely to after-market testing and feedback.

5. Repair, Reuse, Recycle

Performance wear will eventually show signs of use—but that doesn’t mean its life is over. Through our Repair, Reuse, Recycle initiative, we ensure each garment stays in use as long as possible.

  • Repair – When something breaks, repair is always the first step. We support this by offering guidance, spare parts, or repairs in-house.

  • Reuse – If a garment no longer suits you, it may still be perfect for someone else. Our Renewed section offers repaired and pre-owned items to reduce the need for new production.

  • Recycle – When a garment is beyond repair, recycling is the final step. You’re welcome to send it to us—we’ll take care of the process.

To be continued…

The ski wear industry has made progress over the years, but there is still a long journey ahead. We believe we can make a meaningful difference—and we hope you’ll join us. If you have ideas or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.
